Munnings moved to Cornwall for an indefinite period at the beginning of the second decade of the 20th Century and took a large converted sail loft for a studio, with a stable below. As his groom\/new model he took the 17 year old Ned Osborne. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\nThe brown mare was called \"The Duchess\". Munnings found that Osborne made a fine figure, posed in a scarlet coat and a black cap, for a spate of hunting studies with Cornish backgrounds of moors and woods or sometimes remembered Norfolk ones of flat fields and grey skies.
