PETER CURLING

Limited Editions by the great Irish equestrian painter

Peter Curling was born in Waterford, Ireland, in 1955 and brought up in County Clare and in England, where he went to school. He studied under Nera Simi in Florence and worked with John Skeaping, the equestrian artist, in Spain; these two were formative influences on his work. Peter Curling lived for some time in Newmarket, riding out for Michael Stoute, and returned permanently to Ireland in 1975. He runs a stud farm and training stables in Tipperary; his original paintings are so sought-after that he no longer paints to commission but works on his own projects.
