This beautiful print depicts two racehorses; Nashwan and Swain. Nashwan (1986–2002) was an American-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. After winning both his starts as a two-year-old he developed into an outstanding performer in the spring and summer of 1989, completing a unique four-timer when winning the 2000 Guineas, Epsom Derby, Eclipse Stakes and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. After sustaining his only defeat in the Prix Niel in September he was retired to stud where he was a successful sire of winners. Swain was one of the best horses sired by Nashwan.
Swain (foaled February 12, 1992) is an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He is one of only two horses to win two editions of Britain's premier weight-for-age race, the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
At age five in 1997, Swain defeated both Pilsudski and Helissio to win the 1997 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. He returned in 1998 to repeat as the winner, making him (at age six) the oldest horse to win the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the first back-to-back winner since Dahlia in 1973–74. He also won the 1998 Irish Champion Stakes, but finished second in that year's Coronation Cup and second to Silver Charm in the Dubai World Cup. Sent to Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky for the 1998 Breeders' Cup Classic, Swain wound up his racing career with a third-place finish to Awesome Again and Silver Charm.

FRAMING (prints on paper): We use a simple classic frame, gold finish over a black ground, approximately 1 3/4 inches (4.4 cm) in width with off-white acid-free mount 2 1/2 to 3 inches (6.5 - 7.5 cm) wide. Pictures are framed under glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging.
For larger pictures that are to be shipped we can use perspex instead of glass for security in transit - we may contact you to discuss this. Frame section shown below:

FRAMING (prints on canvas): We use a simple classic frame with a gold finish and a white slip next to the canvas, approximately 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) in width. Pictures are framed like an oil painting with no glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging. Frame section shown below:

Unframed prints on canvas are supplied unstretched, with a 2 inch white border, rolled and packed in a strong cardboard tube.
