While working on the portrait of Mrs. Gladys Bawden in Exmoor with her favourite horse Harmony, Munnings encountered an uninvited group of hounds in full cry with the pack and huntsman clattering through the yard. The intruders ultimately forced the artist to hide in the cow-house, where he continued his project. Subtly suggesting the frenzy outside, both Harmony and Mrs. Bawden look just to the left of the viewer perhaps toward a noisy, oncoming hunt.

FRAMING (prints on paper): We use a simple classic frame, gold finish over a black ground, approximately 1 3/4 inches (4.4 cm) in width with off-white acid-free mount 2 1/2 to 3 inches (6.5 - 7.5 cm) wide. Pictures are framed under glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging.
For larger pictures that are to be shipped we can use perspex instead of glass for security in transit - we may contact you to discuss this. Frame section shown below:

Unframed prints on canvas are supplied unstretched, with a 2 inch white border, rolled and packed in a strong cardboard tube.
All prints are covered in transit by our insurance.
