Each print on paper is hand-numbered and supplied with its own numbered Certificate signed by the Master Printer. The Edition is unlimited.

The unframed canvas has a 2 inch (5 cm) white margin all round
Munnings painted many pictures for Lord Astor and this commission is discussed in the artist's autobiography. "Lord Astor wrote asking me to do this last picture, and I said 'No.' At Epsom, his eldest son, Bill said, 'Do paint High Stakes for father. The horse can be sent to you.' I said 'No.' Then the son who rides racing wrote to me and my reply was 'No; I paint no horses for people.' One morning, working in the rubbing stable, I was aware that I must have a racehorse to paint...On the Heath the next morning I saw Lawson, who used to train Lord Astor's horses at Manton. Talking to him, High Stakes came into mind...He found the horse already at Newmarket...as I worked I saw in the poise of his head, in his actions, the sire Hyperion that I had painted fifteen years ago."

Framing
Framing
FRAMING (prints on paper): We use a simple classic frame, gold finish over a black ground, approximately 1 3/4 inches (4.4 cm) in width with off-white acid-free mount 2 1/2 to 3 inches (6.5 - 7.5 cm) wide. Pictures are framed under glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging.
For larger pictures that are to be shipped we can use perspex instead of glass for security in transit - we may contact you to discuss this. Frame section shown below:

FRAMING (prints on canvas): We use a simple classic frame with a gold finish and a white slip next to the canvas, approximately 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) in width. Pictures are framed like an oil painting with no glass and fitted with wire ready for hanging. Frame section shown below:

Unframed prints on canvas are supplied unstretched, with a 2 inch white border, rolled and packed in a strong cardboard tube.
All prints are covered in transit by our insurance.
